Moon laments missed chances

Despite netting the winning goal in Kaizer Chiefs' 1-0 win over Cape Town City on Saturday, Ryan Moon was still not satisfied.

Speaking to SuperSport after the match, the striker voiced his frustration at not scoring more goals.

“I’m not happy about [my missed chances]. I could have had a hat-trick, not just two goals. I just have to keep working hard at training and rectifying the mistakes to bury the chances,” the striker said.

The victory put Chiefs within four points of Premiership leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, who have a game in hand and will play Free State Stars on Wednesday. Moon claimed that after Saturday's win, second-placed Amakhosi are still very much in the race.

According to the 21-year-old, Steve Komphela has set the bar high for his charges and they are eager to appease their coach.

“We have got a good coach, who told us at the start of the season that the league is ours, we’ve got to fight for it. We are in with a chance now,” he said.

Chiefs will next be in action on Saturday, when they face Bloemfontein Celtic. A week on from that, they will face one of their toughest tests of the season when they square up against Orlando Pirates in a Soweto derby that could well play a role in deciding the course of the title.
