Baloyi believes in Stars’ survival

Platinum Stars midfielder Charles Baloyi is adamant the club can avoid the drop ahead of their next Absa Premiership clash at Bloemfontein Celtic on Sunday.

Stars are seven points adrift at the foot of the table and seemingly face an uphill battle to avoid the drop, but Baloyi says there is still belief within the squad that they can get out of trouble.

“I believe we can still get out of the relegation zone,” he said. “We just need to continue working hard each and every day. We lack when it comes to scoring. We need to finish our chances.

“We also have to trust one another. We have to be confident in front of goals. We have to play for the team and not for individuals. That way we will win and come out.

“We have to go in one spirit to Celtic. We have to work hard and take our chances. They also have faults. We have to score goals and get the maximum points.”

The 19-year-old Baloyi has been in the Dikwena squad for a few seasons now, but made his domestic debut in August. He has had a more regular run in the last few weeks.
