Ajax will fight guilty verdict

Ajax Cape Town have revealed that they will fight against their guilty verdict for fielding Tendai Ndoro that has seen the club relegated from the Absa Premiership.

A statement from the South African Football Association on Tuesday explained that Ajax would be replaced by Platinum Stars in the end of season play-offs having lost nine points from the matches that Ndoro influenced to end bottom of the league standings.

The club posted: "Ajax Cape Town found guilty of fielding Tendai Ndoro and forfeit matches against Platinum Stars, Polokwane City & SuperSport United.

"They lose all three matches 3-0 & fined R50 000 on each offence."

But the Urban Warriors have since come out fighting, saying: "Ajax Cape Town are currently consulting with their legal team regarding William Mokhari SC's arbitration ruling released this morning

"The club is in the process of preparing papers to be filed urgently before the High Court in Johannesburg for the matter to be heard tomorrow morning at 10am.

"Among other issues, the club will seek to interdict the promotion playoffs from commencing on Wednesday 16th May at 3pm. This will be sought pending an urgent review of the arbitrators award this morning."

The play-off campaign starts on Wednesday with Ajax initially fixtured to play against Black Leopards.
