What the teams are saying

Golden Arrows coach Clinton Larsen:

“Our game against Baroka is an important league game,” said Larsen. “Games against Baroka are always tough.

“We want to make sure that we get three points. Us being in the top eight it is a priority, and three points will put us there. So it's very important that we go there for three points.

“I'm also happy with Knox Mutizwa’s form. I think our strikers, including Lerato Lamola, have been under a little bit of pressure. You know they've worked really hard and have been very unlucky in front of goal at times, but the hard work will pay off.

“The players deserve all the credit for putting in such a sterling effort thus far this season, and I’m sure it will continue.”

Baroka FC midfielder Mduduzi Mdantsane:

“Thanks to the Almighty God. Thanks to the team, the technical team, the chairman and the supporters. It’s not a good season for us [so far]. We really needed this game today just to boost our confidence,” said Mdantsane after beating Sundowns 2-0 in the Telkom KO this past weekend.

“That’s the only thing we’ve been struggling on, scoring. We’ve been working more on our finishing, I think it paid off today. We could have scored more goals but it’s the name of the game. We will take this to the next round.

“For me I can rename this award, not to say Man of the Match [award] but it is the Team of the Game [award] because we’ve been communicating well, they’ve been supporting me from the start of the game.

“Now we must turn our attention back to the league and try to beat Golden Arrows this coming weekend.”
