Nkana out to humble Al Hilal

Nkana FC will welcome Al Hilal Omdurman in the CAF Confederation Cup Group C match at the Nkana Stadium in Zambia on Wednesday.

Kick-off is at 3:00 pm CAT.

The Zambian giants kicked off their group stage campaign with a narrow 1-0 defeat to fellow Zambian club Zesco United away earlier this month.

Nkana, who finished second in the 1990 CAF Champions League, are placed fourth on the Group C standings - three points behind the leaders, Zesco.

Nkana coach Beston Chambeshi is confident that his side will show a different character against Al Hilal and secure their first group stage win.

“The tournament has just started. This is just the first game. We can’t sleep and say everything is over,” Chambeshi said on Lusaka Times.

“We will plan for the next game. We have learnt one or two things from this game. Come next game you will see a different character,” Chambeshi said.

Meanwhile, Al Hilal also started their group stage campaign with a 1-0 victory over Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko at home earlier this month.

The Sudanese giants, who have beaten twice in the CAF Champions League final, are placed second on the Group C standings and they are only behind leaders, Zesco on goal-difference.

Al Hilal have announced that their star striker Idriss Mbombo has been deemed match fit ahead of the clash with Nkana.

The 22-year-old DR Congolese striker was once on the books of Nkana's rivals, Zesco United.

Al Hilal are under the guidance of Tunisian coach Irad Zaafouri.
